1. Lipstick Stun Gun

We thought this kind of thing only existed in the movies. Security agents at a small Vermont airport stopped a woman because of a suspicious-looking lipstick case she had stored in her carry-on bag.

When they got a better look at it, it turned out to be a 350,000-volt stun gun. Her reasons for having it are unclear, but James Bond can breathe a sigh of relief.

2. Snakes & Turtles

Now here’s a slithery story. A man decided it was a good idea to stuff several snakes into his pants. Using hosiery as bags, he rolled the snakes up into little balls and went to town.

Also found were three small turtles. U.S. Fish and Wildlife officers arrived on the scene to take the reptiles away and the man was arrested.

As for what would’ve happened if the snakes had come out of hiding while the plane was in motion, we’ll leave that to your imagination.

3. Skull Fragments

Skull fragments are sneaky. You never know when they’re going to show up. That’s what some passengers learned when they tried to bring clay pots from their vacation on a plane in 2013.

It turns out the inside of the pots contained human skull fragments. The fragments weren’t considered a security threat, but they did turn the checked luggage area into a crime scene.

The owners claimed they “had no idea” they were carrying something so grisly.

4. Cannon ball covered in coral

Here’s an individual who took the saying “get the ball rolling” to heart. 290 would-be flyers ran into a delay when one Fort Lauderdale TSA agent found a cannonball covered in coral.

A diver discovered it in the wreckage of a ship from the 1700s and decided to bring it home. Despite its age, airport employees still believed it could explode.

They called in a TSA explosives specialist and bomb tech so it could be disposed of safely. Who knew an old cannonball could still cause so much damage?

If you think you’ve heard everything, number six should prove you wrong. 91-year-old Curt Willi Jarant was all set to take a trip from Liverpool to Berlin, but the staff at Liverpool John Lennon Airport stopped him.

Why? Well, he was dead. His wife and stepdaughter were traveling with him and claimed they didn’t know he was dead.

In fact, they thought he was asleep. Jarant had been wearing sunglasses and sitting in a wheelchair when suspicion arose. Both women were arrested on suspicion of failing to give notification of a death.

In 2012, Sharjah International Airport customs officials told an Egyptian couple they couldn’t enter the United Arab Emirates.

Their son didn’t have a visa. Determined to get around this little issue, the parents put him in a carry-on bag. They took it for a security screening as if everything was normal.

Naturally, airport staff spotted the young child the moment he went through the X-ray scanner. The parents were arrested.

Officials at Boston’s Logan International Airport found themselves dealing with a passenger trying to take a samurai sword on a plane. Their identity was never revealed, but we like to think they were trying to saving the world.

If you want to sneak a turtle onboard, maybe you shouldn’t disguise it as a hamburger. That’s exactly what a Chinese man was trying to do when he was caught at customs.

It appears the turtle was a special pet that the man didn’t want to be separated from while he traveled.

He was ready to go to extremes to bring the reptile along for the ride. Officials managed to talk him into leaving the turtle behind with a friend for safekeeping.

9. Luggage Fire

When somebody says they’re packing heat, they’re probably not talking about exploding luggage. When a fire erupted in a checked bag on the conveyer belt, employees were caught off guard.

It turns out a leaking can of hairspray mixed with a lighter can produce three-foot-high flames. No one was hurt and no arrests were made, but a lot of burning questions were left unanswered.

At number Ten, we have a weird item, indeed. A British woman set off a metal detector alarm and raised confusion when it was discovered she was wearing a chastity belt.

Apparently, her husband didn’t think she would be faithful during her trip to Greece and decided to get her one. The woman was allowed to fly.
