Varicolored Crosoma – What are its Advantages?

Trametes versicolor is a fungus that is common almost all over Poland. It hides a lot of medicinal compounds with multidirectional healing effects (including anti-cancer, hypoglycemic). Find out more about its beneficial properties.

Trametes versicolor, Coriolus versicolor) is a common fungus of the genus Polyporaceae with exceptional therapeutic properties. The foreign name “turkey tail” reflects its appearance perfectly. Grosniak can be found very easily – it occurs in larger clusters, it grows in large numbers on dying or dead trees.

It can be recognized by specific stripes that are arranged concentrically on the fruiting bodies. They have a color from brown, beige, to black with a slightly bluish tinge. Sometimes a green bloom appears on the fungi, which is a result of the presence of algae.

The fruiting bodies have thin and sharp edges and are usually from a few millimeters to one centimeter thick. Mushrooms are quite hard and flexible, and they smell nice too. They dry and fade fairly quickly after picking (so it’s best to keep them out of the light).

The zones where they can be found are dry tree limbs lying near the forest, stumps, dead trees blown by the wind or even standing (still alive) trees already dying. Varicolored mole was known and used already intraditional Chinese medicine , it was one of the most sought-after mushrooms at the time – it was said to be a vital product.

People used it because it strengthened the immune system, cleansed the body of secretions and improved the blood supply to the heart. In addition, it has been used for liver problems and digestive problems. It was believed that the fungus could prevent insomnia, calm down, and counteract palpitations. It was also used in states of irritability and anxiety.

Varicolored mesoma – a source of bioactive ingredients

In research on Trametes versicolor, it has been proven that it is the source of many groups of substances with multidirectional healing effects. They include mainly protein-polysaccharide complexes and polysaccharides (glucans, α-glucans, β-glucans), as well as terpenes and polyphenolic components.

In 2012, Japanese experts separated it from ternatin (cyclic heptapeptide), which may be used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. In addition to the previously mentioned ingredients, the fungus contains minerals (including chromium, manganese, copper, nickel), fatty acids (saturated, unsaturated), simple sugars (xylose, mannose, rhamnose, xylose, glucose, arabinose, galactose), vitamins from group B, ergosterols, tetaraol, glycoproteins, cerevisterol, sistostreol, triterpenoids, glucuronic acid, phenolic acids (coffee, gallic, protocatech).

Varicolored Crosoma – Application

  • Strengthening the body’s defense system, especially in the case of bacterial and viral diseases.
  • Properties supporting the work of the liver.
  • Mitigating the adverse effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy (supporting the immune system).
  • Complementary in the treatment of neoplastic diseases and cancer prevention.
  • Antifungal properties.

Wrośnioma in the Treatment of Boleriosis

Due to the strong immunostimulating properties, phytotherapists recommend the use of mesothelioma also in the prevention and alleviation of the early stages of Lyme disease. Increasing the immune response is an effective method of fighting against Lyme disease.

PSP polysaccharide and fructo-oligosaccharides present in congratoma favorably modify the composition of the intestinal microflora (they increase the level of Lactobacillus spp .. and Bifidobacterium spp .. bacteria, and reduce the amount of Enterococcus spp .., Staphylococcus spp .. and Clostridium spp ..), as well as its pH ( pH).

This fungus prevents defects caused by oxidative stress, and the flavonoids and phenols present in it suppress inflammation and stimulate the release of protective substances. WroÅ›niak works synergistically with ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and the membranaceous astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus).

Crassoma and Neoplasms

It has been proved in in vivo and in vitro studies that the seroma limits the multiplication of neoplastic cells. It reduces the negative effects of radio- and chemotherapy treatments, such as pain, fatigue, nausea and lack of appetite.

The fungus is able to regenerate the immune response weakened by chemotherapy. In 2012, the US government’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognized the use of Trametes versicolor in cancer clinical trials. At that time, the activity of the K polysaccharide isolated from it was analyzed.

Tests conducted by Bastyr University and the University of Minnesota Medical School focused on women with breast cancer. The healing properties of the mesothelioma have been demonstrated. In women who were given dry mushroom extract for 4 weeks, an increase in immunity (activation of NK lymphocytes and cytokines) was noticed, with the simultaneous absence of side effects.

It has also been observed that osteochondrosis can positively influence the treatment of colorectal cancer and many other diseases (including lymphomas, upper respiratory and urinary tract infections, and lung diseases). T. versicolor fruiting extract, containing polyphenols and terpenoids, increases the activity of macrophages, which has been used in the treatment of melanoma.

On the other hand, aqueous extracts containing amino acids and polysaccharides limit the aggression and migration of cancer cells, causing the tumor mass regression (even by 36%) and reducing the possibility of metastasis to the brain.

In addition, the fungus is a huge fighter against some pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, cocci, chlamydia, cancer cells and yeast. WroÅ›niak “x-rays” the human body, looks for pests and fights them. He does not do it alone, but with the help of the individual immune cells of the human body. Its operating strategy is similar to that of the Reishi mushroom, but the latter is more effective in supporting vitality and is more nutritious.

Varicolored croma is most commonly used to treat the following types of Cancer:

  • Brain cancer
  • Lung cancer
  • cervical cancer
  • esophageal cancer
  • breast cancer
  • blood cancer (leukemia)
  • skin cancer (melanoma)
  • cancer of the lymph tissue (lymphoma)
  • bowel cancer

The fungus can also be used in the treatment of neoplastic changes under the navel and whenever they have metastasized. It helps not only to reduce the level of cancer cells, but also supports the body during conventional treatment, which is usually accompanied by many negative side effects.

Varicolored croma – use in the treatment of the following non-oncological diseases:

  • Staphylococcus aureus infection
  • diabetes
  • lung disease
  • chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
  • hepatitis and dysfunction
  • viral diseases (herpes virus, HIV)
  • rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune disorders
  • hypertension
  • candidiasis (thrush) and other pathogenic fungal infections
  • malaria.

In Asian countries, the varicolored oyster mushroom is used to support the treatment of urinary tract infections, infections of the upper respiratory tract and the digestive system. Due to its sedative effect, the fungus can prevent mental hyperactivity, insomnia and palpitations.

Effect on theIntestinal Microflora

It has been proved in in vitro studies that the extracts of mycosis affect the composition of the bacterial microflora of the gastrointestinal tract. It has been reported that the PSP polysaccharide increases the amount of Lactobacillus spp. And Bifidobacterium spp. And at the same time reduces the level of Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Clostridium and Staphylococcus. It does not significantly affect the amount of Escherichia coli, Streptococcus spp., And Bacteroides spp. Apart from its antibacterial properties, PSP stimulates the production of organic acids (short-chain organic acids and lactic acid) and increases the activity of two enzymes: β-glucosidase and β-galactosidase.

Effects on Glycaemia and Diabetes management

It has been reported that exopolysaccharides obtained from mycellial cultures of Trametes versicolor have hypoglycemic properties by limiting the activity of the α-glucosidase enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of starch to glucose. By blocking this compound, the digestion of sugars slows down and ceases, which results in a lowering of glucose levels after a meal. This mechanism makes it possible to use these fractions from seroma in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Another substance that affects the lipid-carbohydrate metabolism is teranthine, i.e. a cyclic protein that prevents hyperglycemia occurring in type 2 diabetes. Ternatin stops the synthesis of triglycerides in the liver and blocks the accumulation of fats in the liver. 3T3-L1 cells, additionally improves their metabolism.

Varicolored Crosoma – Application

After collecting the fruiting bodies, they must be crushed and then dried in an oven (at 50 ° C) or in a mushroom dryer. Ideally, they should be stored in a hermetically sealed vessel (e.g. a jar), in a dry place and protected from light. Optimal extraction of the valuable polysaccharides can be achieved by boiling the mushrooms for at least 80 minutes over low heat.

Summary

Varicolored wroÅ›niak is common throughout Poland, except for the high parts of the mountains. It grows on the branches or trunks of deciduous (sometimes coniferous) trees and dead shrubs. It has unique therapeutic properties. It has already been used in traditional Chinese medicine. Due to the presence of bioactive substances, fats, minerals, glycoproteins and triterpenoids, the fungus has strong immunostimulatory properties. It is also used in the prevention and alleviation of the early stages of Lyme disease. In addition, it can prevent defects caused by oxidative stress, and the phenols and flavonoids present in it suppress inflammation and stimulate the release of protective substances. The fungus supports the immune system. Polysaccharides isolated therefrom may exhibit anti-tumor activity. This mechanism is related to blocking, or the neutralization of immunosuppressive compounds and the direct or indirect action of lymphocytes through the regulation of cytokine secretion. The direct influence of this component on neoplastic cells is also possible. The fungus also reduces the negative effects of radio- and chemotherapy treatments. Numerous studies have confirmed the positive effect of various-colored melanoma in the treatment of colorectal cancer and many other non-oncological diseases (including diabetes, upper respiratory tract infections, lung diseases, hypertension, hepatitis and candidiasis).
