#1. The Outsider (2018)

Gripping storytelling, impressive cinematography. Jared’s intense performance is worthy of applause, the way he remains calm, speaks only when necessary gives his character an air of mystery & importance. It was immersive for me, the world of Osaka and the 2 crime present a fable worth watching.

This film was absolutely incredible from start to finish, the acting was class, Jared had an intensity in each scene with minimal dialogue. This film was placed in my top 20 immediately, Japanese Movies on Netflix, looking at the reviews.

#2. Gantz: O (2016)

Just the season one tho maybe the reason why I missed a lot. Kato died at season one and dunno what happened to Kei’s. The animation was so lit. Japanese is so awesome when it comes to animation and creating a storyline. Japanese Movies Netflix. People who never watched anime or not really into this kind of stuff might feel boring or whatever.

Generally, the fighting is dumb cause the characters are too slow to act; like wth the monsters are pinned down, fire at it with some other weapon before it breaks out of the rope thingy.

#3. Bleach (2018)

The anime is way better than this, they have changed so many aspects for so many elements, it gets really boring. Kudos to the cast all played their parts well, but the main problem with the movie is the plot, Netflix Japanese Movies, too rushed and not much resemblance to the anime. Ichigo, Rukia, Chad, and Orihime are at the forefront of the initial story with Uryū joining in the mid 1st half.

This was thrown out the window, Chad the only black/brown guy from south America in the anime is made to look like some drunk guy who is homeless.

#4. In This Corner of the World (2016)

Obviously, if you go into the reality of wartime you can say that Japan was not all right. Japanese Movies on Netflix. They did actually gave some unforgettable scars to lots of people. But nevertheless, this movie was actually about a girl, who is cute and sweet and how she fought with all her might whenever she faced difficulties and for me, that is something ‘magical’.

#6. Shoplifters (2018)

“Shoplifters” will surely endure as a classic film about family. Set in a Tokyo which feels gritty and real, on a night of extreme cold, a father brings home a young girl he has found left outside her home to join his family. But this is a family with a difference, marginals, holding down lowly jobs, surviving by shoplifting, living on their wits, but they take the newcomer to their heart.

The actors, all of them, are superb. Netflix Japanese Movies. The Director uses lots of close-ups where the profound humanity and truth of the characters rise to the surface of their faces.

#7. Blame! (2017)

It’s a wonderful take on one of the plots in the manga. It shortens it but gives you everything you need to know. But I feel it would have been cool to see Netflix make this into an anime series instead of a movie and it would’ve been nice to see more extremely large unnerving structures like in the manga those images of a small person walking through unimaginably sized structures

#8. Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters (2017)

Almost as good as Dwayne Johnson in Skyscraper; a story about a building. I’m sure some movie executives spent many brain cells coming up with a movie about a building. Maybe, 1 brain cell. Japanese Movies on Netflix. So in this case, 2 brain cells. There are a lot of them and I never really cared for any of them. Good or bad.

Overall, I gave this movie a thumbs up just because of the animation? or should I say ART is absolutely gorgeous? The minute details, shimmering of light, expressions, shadows and glows. It is kind of like looking at a gorgeous model.

9- Flavors of Youth: International Version (2018)

Flavors of Youth consists of three tales, each with their own feelings to the harbor. In the end, it’s a heartwarming movie about how life goes on, how days will come and go. Grief, agony, regrets – they are parts of our lives, yet, we need to keep on living, and just like a beautiful sun after rain, everything gets better. Japanese Movies Netflix. Maybe not in the same way we had it before, but in another way we never expected. Flavors of Youth delivers this fine theme.

Definitely recommended for those who like heartwarming, a slice of life, and tearjerker movies.

#10. Fullmetal Alchemist (2017)

The movie seems like it wants to do justice 100% to their original characters but flops miserably while doing so. The acting is too dramatic, over-the-line exaggerated so much it ruins the whole thing for me. The actor for Edward is not a good choice nor is Winry’s. Right from the beginning, Riza seems like she’s wearing an oversized coat. Netflix Japanese Movies. But I like Hughes and Al and especially love Tucker.

#11. Blade of the Immortal (2017)

The whole movie is based on fighting and revenge, and cutting people down a la Kill Bill, so this isn’t for the fainthearted or those who love cutesy flicks. If you love great action, and manga did right, don’t miss this. The great action-filled movie about an immortal samurai. The plot was straightforward. If the girl, Rin is trained and put to the test, the story would be much more interesting.

#12. The Forest of Love (2019)

The Forest Of Love (2019). Friendly reminder that there’s a new Sion Sono horror movie available on Netflix right now. A history of multiple facets as well as different visions is raw; I paused it at times because the present content is difficult to digest. A jewel is quite violent and heartbreaking. Yes, you should check it out.
