The character Jerry plays is Harvey Miller that has the desire to follow in his father’s footsteps to become a pro golfer. But he has a crippling fear of crowds.

Due to this, he began to mentor caddie Joe played by Dean Martin as he became arrogant due to his consecutive wins.
